WHAT IS THE KINSHIP PROGRAM AT ASHTABULA COUNTY CHILDREN SERVICES?
The Kinship Coordinator for Ashtabula County, will help the kinship family with any questions or concerns that they may have about kinship. The Kinship Coordinator can help be a court advocate, attend court hearings, school or ODJFS meetings with them or give the families information about local services for the child(ren) and the family.
There is also money available for families that receive Legal custody of kinship children. It is called the Kinship Permanency Incentive. The Kinship Coordinator handles the application process through ACCSB. To see if they qualify for the program, the Kinship Coordinator will follow liberal income guidelines provided by the state, provide a background check, and a home visit will be conducted to complete a brief home study. The Kinship Coordinator is able to notarize all necessary paperwork.
We are very appreciative and realize that kinship families need help. Please contact our Kinship Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
